High-class fabric that is smooth and glossy – a sense of restrained profundity. This series is the result of our desire to create a tile having such an ambience. Product development started with a search for a textile matching the image we had – one having a weave neither too loose nor too tight — and what we arrived at was hand-woven linen. The tile surface was finished by transferring the several of the actual fabrics we purchased to the clay. We set high value on the long, narrow, and streamline impression.

Of equal importance to this are the color and texture. We asked the glaze-maker to produce colors that would impart a sense of restrained profundity. What was perfected through trial and error were four matt colors having exquisite hues and sparkling edges. The natural color width that only fired ceramics can provide also heightens the ambience of this tile
